The Hohensees’ neighbors get in on the Christmas fun as well with a “Ditto” sign in the front yard.

As you look at the beautiful lights displays around the community, take a few minutes to take in the light show at the Hohensee home at 12625 Sullivan Road, located across the street from the new schools. The home is decorated with thousands of lights set to music, so it really is a fun sight for kids and adults alike. The computer-controlled display takes a long time to program- up to eight hours to sequence just one minute of the show! To the Hohensee family, it is worth the effort to create both a beautiful light show for the community and a fundraiser for those in need.
Each year, the Hohensee family puts out a donation box and guest book in the toy soldier house in their front yard. The donations go to local charitable causes. Last year, proceeds went to the Central Community Assistance Foundation. This year, donations will benefit the Hebert family. Lawson Hebert, who was born this past June, has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Zellweger Spectrum Syndrome. There is currently no treatment or cure for the disorder, and the life expectancy for a child is one year. Lawson’s parents, Kyle and Mindy, are Central residents, and Kyle is an East Baton Rouge Firefighter. Please come by the light display to leave a donation for Lawson. There is a small parking area in the front yard, so you are welcome to pull in to take in the light show and leave a contribution. Thank you for your support of the Hebert family!
