Council to Vote on Term Limits

By  |

Next Tuesday Central’s five Council Members will consider whether to impose term limits on the City’s elected officials.  On the heels of overwhelming passage of term limits for the Central’s School Board Members, the ordinance was introduced in November and will be voted on next week.

As written, the ordinance calls for three-term limits, which is 12 years in office, for the Mayor, Council Members and the Chief of Police.  The ordinance also does not apply to terms which the current officials have already been elected.   Persons wishing to express their opinions are welcome to do so at Tuesday’s Council meeting at Kristenwood at 6PM.
