CCSS Receives Grant to Fund Electrician Certification Program

    CCSS has been awarded $50,000 from the Louisiana Construction Education Foundation in Baton Rouge to begin a new NCCER Electrician Certification Program for high school students during the school day and community members/students after school beginning in January 2013.  The classes will be held at the new Central Middle School Career Technology Lab. 
    Central High students will get first seats, then any available seats will go to area high school students. The grant will provide all electrical tools, computers for the classroom, and hands-on equipment.  The school system will provide the instructor, classroom setup and required texts.
