CCT Prepares to Present The Little Mermaid Jr.

    Central Community Theatre will present Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. on November 9^th at 7pm and November 11^th at 2pm & 7pm at BREC’s Independence Park Theatre.  There will also be a performance for school groups Friday, November 9^th at 9:30am.  Tickets are on sale either online at www.theparktheatre.com or at the Independence Park Theatre located at 7800 Independence Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.     The 60-minute musical is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film.  This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.

    CCT’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. is unique in that it is being performed with two entirely different casts.  We are so blessed to have such talented performers that it made sense to divide them into two groups.  Many of the actors come from the Central area but several of our performers come from as far as Slaughter, Livingston and Denham Springs.
