Down to just five swimmers due to injury and illness, the Central boys team was still able to score 194 points and place fifth which was just one point ahead Zachary.
The relays were especially strong with a 1st place finish in the 200 medley and 2nd place in the 200 freestyle.
Individually, sophomore Matthew Arnold continued his outstanding season by winning the 200 individual medley and finishing 2nd in the 100 backstroke.  The 200 individual medley is Matthew’s fifth event that he has qualified for the state meet.
Junior Sean Murphy finished 2nd and qualified for the state meet in the 200 freestyle.  He also finished 6th in the 100 backstroke.
Junior Daniel Parker continued his strong season with a 5th place in the 50 freestyle and 4th place in the 100 breaststroke.
Meanwhile, junior Kade McAdams finished 7th in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.
As for the girls team, first year swimmer, Destiny Bankston showed tremendous improvement from the last meet shaving almost 4 seconds off her 50 freestyle time.  In addition, Tara Termini cut 7 seconds off of her 100 butterfly time.
This coming Saturday and Sunday the Wildcats will be competing in the City Meet at Crawfish Aquatics.  While the City Meet has tougher competition than the state meet, the Wildcats are hoping to be back at full strength and make a few more state qualifying times.
