Make America Strong Again – Vote for Jobs 2012
The City of Central Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a member of the US Chamber.  We receive information from them on a regular basis and it is our privilege to pass this week’s information on to you.
“This week, as part of VoteForJobs2012.com, a new digital platform to help educate and mobilize voters, the U.S. Chamber released a video featuring President and CEO Tom Donohue urging the business community to vote.  The video is being sent to more than 7 million of the Chamber’s supporters.
“For many months, we have poured an unprecedented amount of our time, energy, and resources into the largest voter education and candidate endorsement program in the Chamber’s 100-year history,” Donohue said in a statement. “Now with November 6th almost upon us, the success of the Chamber’s efforts this cycle rest on one remaining essential ingredient — making sure that the business community and those who support and believe in American enterprise and economic freedom turn out to vote in this critical election.”
Vote For Jobs features voter resources including voter registration forms, absentee ballots, and polling place locators to ensure the business community is active at the polls this November. In addition to Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts, the site features the most recent election and polling information, the Chamber’s How They Voted scorecards for elected officials, and details the Chamber’s pro-growth policy positions.”
The October 2012 Q3 Small Business Survey, released by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce which was conducted online by Harris Interactive, shows how important the upcoming election is in the minds of small business owners.
“Among the key findings of the Chamber’s Third Quarter Small Business Survey:
62% believe that the expiration of 2001 and 2003 tax rates and other business provisions, coupled with sequestration cuts, will have a significant negative impact on their business’s growth, up from 59% in the previous quarter. In total, 89% believe these tax increases will negatively impact their operations.
There was an increase in intensity among those who are concerned about the fiscal cliff. 72% say they are very concerned, which is significantly higher than the 65% reported last quarter.
76% of small businesses say the health care bill makes it harder to hire more employees.
79% of small businesses surveyed feel that the Administration is not doing enough to keep energy prices low, and 76% say that higher energy prices threaten their business.
Small business owners are motivated to vote in this election: 97% are motivated and 92% say they are very motivated.
There is still overwhelming support among small businesses for candidates who support free enterprise, with 97% citing it as a factor in how they vote.”
