Central Intermediate School on Sullivan Road held its first bi-annual blood drive of the current school year, Thursday, September 20, 2012 on the school’s campus.  United Blood Services parked its bus in front of the school where parents, other relatives and friends were able to donate blood to the UBS blood bank.  CIS is considered a Silver Donor site by United Blood Services for hosting two blood drives per calendar year.
Our response from the Central community for the blood drive was overwhelming, and CIS attained its record for units collected through this drive. Briana Bramlette-Sikes, Donor Recruitment Representative for United Blood Services, congratulated the school on its blood drive.  “YOU GUYS DID FANTASTIC!  You collected 47 units; this is the best that y’all have ever done!  Thank you for all that you do and for you all being so generous!”
Central Intermediate administrative personnel and teaching staff echo Ms. Sikes: Yes, thank you for being such a generous community and for supporting the efforts of our school and community.  We anticipate another great turn out next spring for our next blood drive.
