It looked like Central would shut out Catholic in the first half of Friday night’s game.  A 7 yard run by Lamonte Juneau, 33 yard field goal by Greg Noel and a 28 yard pass from Brett Courville to Devon Gales gave Central a 17-0 lead with 4:45 to go in the half.  A few missed tackles on the ensuing kickoff let Catholic’s Thomas return the kick 95 yards for their first score of the game.  Each team would match the others touchdowns in the third quarter putting Central up by 10 points going into the fourth.
Brett Courville was 14 of 18 for 248 yards in the air and 56 yards on the ground.  Gary Triplett led the wildcats receiving with 9 catches for 133 yards.  Lamonte Juneau continued to run the ball with authority rolling up 77 yards on 12 carries, including a 53 yard score.  It was good to see Jake Myer back on the field after dislocating his left elbow in week one.  Myer had 26 yards rushing on two carries and a 42 yard pass reception.
Defensively the wildcats had one of their best outings of the season holding Catholic to 280 yards for the game and forcing 4 fumbles, recovering two.  Kevin Henry led the defense with 5 tackles.  Thomas Eddlemon and John Milton posted 3.5 tackles each.  Ashton Stokes and Demitri Colomb provided excitement with 1.5 and 1 sack respectively.  Sean Parker had a momentum changing interception in the first quarter that led to a field goal.
In a post game interview Coach Sid commented on the game, “It was two great teams playing.  My hat’s off tonight to our defense.  I thought they came up gigantic tonight.  Lamonte Juneau had a great game, had the fumble, but came back with the 60 yard touchdown run.  Brett is our leader man, he’s a tough guy and all heart.  I think it was a complete game, I really do."
