Central High School Football is on the air in 2012!  For the third consecutive season, Central HS Football games will be broadcast on the radio and the Internet.  For the past 6 years, Wildcats games have been heard on the Internet.  This year, all 10 regular season games and playoff games will be carried on WPFC, 1550AM, Baton Rouge, on the Net at JonFineProductions.com and on the Central Now app.  Broadcasts will start at 6pm. The first broadcast will be Friday, August 31, as the Wildcats play host to Istrouma HS. Central HS Football broadcasts are a Jon Fine Production.

The broadcast team for CHS football is Josh Ward on play-by-play, Scott Osborne on color, Dr. Les Bueche on the pre-game show,  with Victoria Eskola to interview Coach Sid Edwards at half-time and post-game.  Ward, a former high school basketball coach, returns for his fifth year as the voice of the Wildcats.  Osborne, also in his fifth year as color commentator for Central, is an assistant basketball coach and teacher at Central. Dr. Bueche is the public address announcer for CHS Football.  Eskola is a Spanish teacher at CHS.

In addition to producing Central HS Football broadcasts, Jon Fine Productions also produces THE CENTRAL STORY.  Airing Monday—Friday nights, 5:30pm—6:30pm, THE CENTRAL STORY concentrates on a different aspect of Central every night.  On Thursday nights, The Sid Edwards Show,  Co-hosted by City of Central Athletics Director and Central Football Coach Sid Edwards and Central HS assistant football coach Steve Johnson broadcasts live from Zoe’s Pizza Buffet, Greenwell Springs Road, next To St. Alphonsus Church.  THE CENTRAL STORY can be heard on WPFC, 1550AM, along with JonFineProductions.com on the Net and on the Central Now app.

During Football season, with the CHS broadcasts starting at 6pm, Friday’s show on THE CENTRAL STORY, KandiLand, with Kandi Jones, starts at 5pm.

Central Speaks Newspaper Host Dave Freneaux hosts Central Speaks Radio Hour on THE CENTRAL STORY, Wednesdays, 5:30pm—6:30pm.

Central HS Broadcast producer Jon Fine hosted drive-time daily sports talk shows in the Baton Rouge area for close to 20 years, beginning in 1991.  Presently, he has taken his company in a new direction, with THE CENTRAL STORY and The Dru Nettles (Television) Show both debuting in the last 5 months.  (The Dru Nettles Show, a Denham Springs HS oriented program airs Thursdays, 6pm, on Cox 4.  Fine co-hosts this program.).

The 2012 Central HS Football radio/Internet broadcasts include a 60 minute pre-game show, “The Central Title & Closing Wildcats Warm-Up”, which features an extensive interview with Wildcats coach Sid Edwards.  At half-time, “The Central Stat Care Half-Time Report” includes an interview with a prominent Central personality.  Following the game, tune in to “ Zoe’s Pizza Buffet Wildcats Wrap-Up”, which includes the “Chase Health Care Player of The Game”.  When the Wildcats score, it is via the “Hunts Tire & Car Care Scoring Drive”.

A real good reason to root for the Wildcats to win this year is that after every Central victory on Friday night, Dairy Queen in Central will offer Blizzards for 99 cents all day Saturday!  David’s Tiger Express and Dairy Queen are located on the corner of Hooper and Joor in Central.
