By Shelia Kister
To my wonderful husband, may you rest now in God’s grace.
Henry (Hank) Ellis Kister passed at his home in Central, LA on August 13th of lung cancer at the age of 60. He was survived by his wife, Shelia Marie Aaron Kister; two brothers, Calvin Godwin of Marrero, LA and Jack Satterfield of New Orleans and resident of Central, LA; two daughters, Ashleigh Kister Wood of Pass Christian, MS and Lori Kister Bougious of Slidell, LA; and a step-son, Jeremy Lee Evans of Central, LA. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Michael Kister of Belle Chase, LA; his mother, Emma Jean Satterfield of McComb, MS; his step-son, Joshua Glen Evans of Baton Rouge, LA; and his mother-in-law, Myrtis Wilson Aaron of Baton Rouge, LA and Liberty, MS.
Sheilia wishes to thank Dr. Vassereddy and his staff at Ochsner of Baton Rouge, Brandi Baker of St. Joseph’s hospice for all her care, Jason (Mugsy) and Kathy Morgan for all their help, Sheryl and Jerry Johnson for being so thoughtful, and Sid Mack for being a friend.
Hank never met a stranger. He had a kind word for everyone. He worked for John Stone Oil in Algiers, LA and as a truck driver along with Shelia, his wife, until he retired and moved to Central, where he spent most of his time on the porch with friends. He will be missed dearly and thought of often.  He loved his dogs, Tippy and Polly. His words to everyone he met were “hey cuz.”
My darling, may you be forever young, handsome, and in my heart.
It is amazing how cancer can get in your body and just take over. On November 12, 2010, Hank and I were with my son Joshua when he passed with Melonoma, and we were with my mom on April 22, 2012 when she passed.
May God keep my family and yours in his faith and know he is there for all of us.
