“Angling Against Autism” Team Bass Tournament to Benefit BRSHF

    BATON ROUGE, LA. – Bergeron’s Cajun Meats and Baton Rouge Speech & Hearing Foundation (BRSHF) will host a team bass fishing tournament, “Angling Against Autism,” on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Doiron’s Landing located at 3185 Highway 70 in Morgan City, La.

    Angela and Craig “Moonie” Bergeron, Keith Thibodaux and Gene David are spearheading the Team Bass Tournament in its second year.  “Angling Against Autism” will include food and drink, door prizes and additional bonuses for fishing teams such as $1,000 to the 1st place winner, $500 to the Big Bass winner and $300 to anyone weighing a 3.00 lb bass.

    Proceeds from the event will support BRSHF’s early intervention Autism program, which offers treatment for pre-school aged children. The program combines one-on-one instruction based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, with Group Language Therapy to establish and promote appropriate language development, early academic skills, social skills and adaptive behaviors.

    BRSHF is a 52-year-old community center serving children with communications and other delays, and audiology patients of all ages from the Greater Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area, including all ten parishes served by Capital Area United Way.

    Entry into the “Angling Against Autism” Team Bass Tournament is $150 per boat.  Teams can register at Bergeron’s Cajun Meats on Highway 415 in Port Allen or online atwww.AnglingAgainstAutism.com. Registration will also be available the day of the tournament on-site.
