CHS Girls Soccer Summer Season Summary

Submitted by Coach Eskola
The Central Lady Wildcats Soccer team completed their summer season on Saturday July 28th.  Central had enough players to field an upper and lower division team, which provided plenty of playing opportunities for a myriad of new players.  Highlights for the division one team (Ashley McDowell, Bobbie Broome, Sarah Leblanc, Tori Evans, Kayleigh Amos, Tobi Baudry, Rachel Seidel, Chelsey Barrett, Courtney Stanford and Secilia Blanco) included a 4-0 win vs Walker, a 6-3 win vs Lutcher and a defense that never allowed more than 3 goals against in any match.
The division two team (Brittany Givens, Shaelyn Weaver, Katharyn Jenkins, Reagan Gill, Kimberly Braud, Crystal Rankin, Elena Nodine, Ashton Olinde, Maddy Consoer, Meredith Smith, Rachel Dinger, Maranda Marquez and Victoria Sausse) included many girls who had never played soccer until this summer.  They improved as the summer progressed and earned a 1-1 draw vs Lutcher 2 and a forfeit win.
This is another reminder that any girls interested in competing in soccer this season need to get an LHSAA physical/eligibility packet from the front office and complete and return it no later than August 17th.  Conditioning will begin on August 6th and no one can condition, practice or play without the necessary paperwork on file with the school. All completed paperwork can be given to Ms Eskola in S301.  If any girls have questions they may contact Ms Eskola for a copy of the girl's soccer policy and procedures and to obtain coaching staff contact information and phone numbers.  Coaches and returning players will also have a table set up in the commons area at the high school during student orientation and any girls interested in playing this season are encouraged to come by and ask questions.
