Reminder: Check Your Smoke Detector Batteries!

On 2-25-12 at 0045 hrs Central Fire Department responded to a house fire at 15345 Hidden Creek. Upon arrival of the first fire truck flames were coming out of a second story room and roof. The fire was contained to the second floor. Fire crews made a good stop on the fire. The home had smoke detectors with no batteries. We can’t stress enough about being prepared. CHECK YOUR BATTERIES. A barking dog alerted the occupant. No one was hurt. The Zachary Fire Department responded as the Rapid Intervention Team. The Red Cross was called out to help the displaced family. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
