Words of Encouragement from the Central Area Pastors Association
This week we celebrated Valentine’s Day. Many people used a variety of gifts and cards to express their love for that special loved one. Remember the cards you use to get in grade school? One of the main phrases used on many of the cards was, “Will you be mine?” Obviously, no one really expected everyone they gave the cards to, to answer, “Yes!” None of us could have adequately handled that many Valentine’s. However, someone has given a tremendous gift and asked all of us that same question, “Will you be mine?” Unlike us, he can handle all the “Yes” answers!
Romans 10:8-11 says, "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. NKJV
God loved you and the whole world so much that He gave the greatest gift of all, His only Son! He has forever sent out the message to all mankind saying, “You can be mine!” Just like the gifts many of us received on Valentine’s Day, all you have to do is be willing to receive the valuable gift of God’s son. However, unlike the candied gifts that will quickly be gone, God’s gift remains forever! If you want to experience a love that never fails and leaves you feeling safe, secure, and free answer “Yes”, this Valentine’s Season, to God’s question, “Will you be Mine?”
