CIS Students Celebrate Anniversary of Our National Anthem

Central Intermediate School students remembered the 197th anniversary of the writing of our National Anthem in a special way yesterday. For several weeks, their Choir teacher, Mrs. Johanna Benton, has been teaching them the history behind the "Star Spangled Banner", along with the lyrics and tune. "They've been so enthusiastic," Mrs. Benton says proudly, "They're all experts now on the song's background." It was very stirring to witness hundreds of orderly students singing our National Anthem so beautifully. Congratulations on a job well done to both Mrs. Benton and her great choir!
