In Memoriam: Jim Morden, Sr.
James I. "Jim" Morden, Sr. passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his home. He was 83. A 35 year Central resident, Jim was a retired industrial contractor with Morden Consulting and Arkel International. Jim travelled extensively in his career to places as far off as Kuwait, Zimbabwe, the Sudan, Peru and Indonesia.
He is survived by his wife, Tommie; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Monty Offutt of Madison, Alabama; and son and daughter-in-law James I. "Jimbo" Jr. and Zoie Morden of Watson. Jim had seven grandchildren and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Blanche Morden, and two brothers. He was a member of the Knights Templar. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children in Shreveport or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
