St. Alphonsus Celebrates 2011 St. Joseph’s Altar

St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Greenwell Springs celebrated it's 19th annual St. Joseph's Altar this past weekend. On Saturday the Altar was blessed by Father Mike Moroney after the 4:00 p.m. Mass. On Sunday, The Holy family, portraded this year by Jim and Shirley Lawless as Joseph and Mary and Grant Rembrent as Jesus, sampled food from the altar and then the public was fed. The meatless meal included, Spagetti with boiled eggs, Shrimp Jambalya, Red Beans and rice, and many different casseroles, fried Vegetables and Desserts. Pictured are a few of the Volunteers who helped organize the altar.
