Business Spotlight: Tim’s Computers
By Mia Freneaux
Tim Rauls has spent the last 25 years working at his dream job. Starting out with his father, Harry Rauls of Central Community Alliance, in the banking business, Tim became interested in the computer business when he discovered he had a real talent for it, prompting him to say, “I love my job – actually it feels more like my hobby.” Tim has been involved in personal computer repair since its infancy. Starting out in the early 1980’s, he worked his way through DOS and all the various Windows configurations, which is why he is able to work today even on outdated models. Tim’s Computers sells, networks, repairs, and services computers. They also handle data recovery and wireless networking. His staff of experienced repair and sales men can handle any challenge, as attested to by the fact that his customers come from Baton Rouge and all surrounding areas to bring him their computer issues.
Tim’s Computers focuses on customer service. Tim says, “It is all about taking care of the customer, unlike mail order businesses or large national chains.” He uses only the best quality parts. Tim has also been honored by Cajun Clickers, one of the nation’s biggest pc websites, with a lifetime membership. He believes strongly about giving back to the community, donating computers and service to churches and non profit organizations, and working with the upcoming generation. Tim speculates he has probably educated half of the kids in Baton Rouge on how to fix their own computers.
Tim’s Computers has 2 locations to serve you – 2138 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd, and their newest location at 12221 Greenwell Springs Rd, now a month old, opened to serve the needs of the Central, Watson and Denham Springs areas. Call them at 248-6611 or visit them at their website www.timpc.com.
