Celebrity Flag Football Game for Relay for Life
By Beth Fussell
On Friday, October 8th, there will be a celebrity flag football game in Wildcat Stadium following the varsity home game vs Denham Springs. Local “celebrities” have agreed to play in what will be a shortened version of a flag football game. The game will be “City vs. School.” The School team will be coached by Superintendent Mike Faulk, and the City team will be led by Councilman Wayne Messina in Mayor Watts’s absence.
The game is a fundraiser for the Central Relay for Life, which raises money for cancer research and treatment through the American Cancer Society. Businesses are being asked to sponsor team members for the game through donations. All proceeds will benefit Central Relay for Life. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor for the game, please call 262-3730. Donations will also be accepted at the game. Remember to stay on October 8th for the fun!
