Palubinskas Named CPS Boys Basketball Coach

Central Private School is pleased to announce the hiring of Head Boys Basketball Coach Eddie Palubinskas for the 2010-2011 season.  Coach Palubinskas, a former LSU Tiger, was the starting guard and leading scorer and selected to the All-Conference, All-Region SEC, and All-Coaches teams.  He was drafted to the Atlanta NBA and Utah ABA pro franchises.  Coach Palubinskas is internationally known as a shooting coach including stints with the LA Lakers, Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) and the Australian women’s national team.  He has served as a personal coach to such basketball greats as Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant and coached the NBA All-Star Team on its Asian tour.  Palubinskas, who previously served as Head Coach at CPS, has also coached in Hawaii, Australia, and Utah.  He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records   for the most free throws attempted (880) and made (867) with one ball in one hour and is scheduled to shoot for a new world record for 2400 free throws in one hour at the Great Wall of China in June 2010.  In addition, Coach Palubinskas is a published author , an inventor of a new basketball, publisher of DVDs on shooting techniques, and well-known as CEO of USA Graphics, Inc., a company dedicated to painting sports graphics/school logos on courts, fields, etc.  He is currently President of the National Basketball Shooters Association and Director of Hoop-LA Basketball Academy.  Coach Palubinskas is pictured below with Principal Frazier of Central Private School.
