Weekly School Update

At the CCSS School Board meeting Monday evening, students, teachers, and support staff of the month from each school were honored. The following people were recognized for the month of February:

Bellingrath Hills Elementary has their Book Fair coming up next week, March 15-19. Students will be given the opportunity to purchase books at the fair. Parents can also purchase books for their kids or to contribute to their children’s classroom libraries. The Book Fair is also looking for volunteers to help set up and to assist children in selecting books. This year, through a special program called One for Books, for each dollar raised, Scholastic will donate a book to a charitable cause. At the School Board meeting, the School Board began the process of adapting a procurement policy, which sets up specific steps for teachers and other school employees when something needs to be purchased for the school or classroom. 

The bids for the rennovations to the remaining Central School System schools (not including the ones that are being replaced) are being advertised. Those bids will be received in April.

Because the school earned a 100% rating in the Positive Behavior System, Tanglewood Elementary has been named by the state as a demonstration site for Universal Level Positive Behavior System.
