Weekly Schools Update

Next week is Mardi Gras. Because the schools did not need to use the allotted contingency days for anything else, they will be used to give students and teachers the entire week off next week.

At the CCSS School Board meeting Monday, students, teachers, and support workers of the month were recognized from each school:

Bellingrath Hills Elementary: Student of the Month- Parker Thomas, Teacher of the Month- Michelle Robertson, Support Worker of the Month- Shiela Day

Tanglewood Elementary: Student of the Month- Lane Wolf, Teacher of the Month- Cindy Ferris, Support Worker of the Month- Gay Ellis

Central Intermediate: Student of the Month- Tyler Adams, Teacher of the Month- Nancy Hall, Support Worker of the Month- Samantha Mancuso

Central Middle: Student of the Month- Kiera Palmer, Teacher of the Month- Stuart Chamblis, Support Worker of the Month- Deborah Vidrine

Central High: Student of the Month- Tyler Westbrook, Teacher of the Month- Julie Hawkins, Support Worker of the Month- Shaun Braud

Congratulations to the students of the year who were also recognized at the meeting:

Christian Mannino (Bellingrath Hills Elementary), Lane Wolf (Tanglewood Elementary), Kyle Kepper (Central Intermediate), Ashton Allen Kennedy (Central Middle), Justin Bryan Schopp (Central High)

Brittni Allain won the Chamber of Commerce’s Mardi Gras poster contest.

Also at this week’s School Board meeting, the issue of before and after school care at Bellingrath, a topic that was debated at length at a previous School Board meeting, was approved for the next school year.

The next CCSS School Board meeting will be February 22 at 6 PM at Kristenwood.

There will be a meeting with a LOFSA rep for the parents of high school students at Central Private. The meeting will be held this Thursday, 2/11 at 6:30 PM in the school cafeteria.
