Ordinance Debated at Council Meeting
Last October, the City Council agreed upon an ordinance that was created to keep vendors from setting up temporary businesses on the side of the road. An amendment was presented at last night’s City Council meeting that would at least temporarily allow those who had previously held an occupational or peddlers license to continue operating. A lengthy debate followed with several community members showing their support for this amendment. However, due to the design of Central’s master plan, the temporary nature of the peddlers license, and several conflicts stemming from a lack of permits and unheeded city ordinances, the amendment was voted down 3 votes to 2.
If you have a business in Central, please check with the city and the CITY WEBSITE to be sure you are in compliance with city ordinances and possess the necessary permits.
