Light the Night for Cancer

By  |
Last year in Tanglewood Subdivision, the residents held a Light the Night event.  It was asked that every household that had been affected by cancer place a light of some kind -a candle, flashlight, torch, lamp, etc., at the end of their driveway to signify a home that had experienced cancer.  Then at 7 p.m., they joined each other in a walk around the neighborhood to see how many of the homes had lights.  Some 60 homes participated, and we know there should have been more.

This year we want to invite the whole City of Central to participate in Light the Night For Cancer.  Organize your neighborhood.  Get the word out.  Sunday night, September 20 is LIGHT THE NIGHT IN CENTRAL.  You will be stunned by how many of your neighbors have faced Cancer.  Join together and walk through the area together.  If you don’t live in a neighborhood of close homes, you can still put your light out on your driveway.  Put them out by 6:30 p.m.  Start the walk at 7 p.m.

RELAY FOR LIFE is Friday September 25 at 6 p.m.  Come on out to the Central High School track and join in the CELEBRATION for Survivors, the REMEMBRANCE for those we’ve lost, and learn how to FIGHT BACK.

RELAY FOR LIFE is not just a walking exercise, it is a FESTIVAL!  A fun time!  A family-oriented event for all!  Lots of food, fun, festivity and music.  Games, silent auctions, facepainting, space walks and slides, live bands!  Come on out with your family and friends to experience a memorable event!
