St. Jude Bike-A-Thon Saturday

By  |

The 33rd Annual St. Jude Bike-A-Thon is this Saturday, May 14. Participants should arrive at 8:30 a.m., and the ride will begin at 9:00 a.m. This event has been held in Central annually since 1984! Bring your bike and helmet to Magnolia Square and ride for a good cause.
Proceeds from this family-friendly event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude exists solely to prevent and cure pediatric catastrophic diseases. St. Jude is the only National Cancer Institute dedicated solely to the treatment of children and has more than 67,000 patient visits each year. Since opening in 1962, treatments invented at St. Jude have pushed the childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to over 80 percent. Families NEVER receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
So how can you help?  If you would like to ride in the Bike-A-Thon (which is open to kids and adults of all ages), collect some donations or pledges from family and friends to support your effort, and show up with your bike and helmet.  If you would not like to ride but would still like to support the effort, pledge a donation to one of the riders, or come in person to the Bike-A-Thon to make a donation and enjoy the event.
