In Memoriam: William George Walker

    William George Walker, 80 of Baker, LA, formerly of Newell, WVA, passed into eternal life on March 16, 2014 with his family surrounding him. He was born November 29, 1933 in Evans City, Pennsylvania to Albert B. Walker and Emma C. Hicks Walker. He was employed by the Homer C. Laughlin China Company in Newell, West Virginia for 43 years. He retired in November 1995 as Warehouse Manager. He was an active member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in East Liverpool, Ohio, serving in various capacities for 51 years and a current member of First Baptist Church Zachary, LA.

    He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Beverly Brand Walker, two sons, Robert "Bob" Walker and his wife Kelly of Baker, LA, Kenny Walker and his wife Corda of St. Francisville, LA. Four granddaughters, Melissa Walker Posey, husband Webb of Lee's Summit, MO, Trisha Walker Bowden, husband Rex of Baton Rouge, LA, Maygan Walker Montz, husband Kevin of Lafayette, LA and Amanda Walker Robinson, husband Paul of San Francisco, CA, 4 great-granddaughters, 4 great-grandsons, brothers, Ronald Walker (Marilyn) of Kensingston, OH, Daniel Walker (Marilyn) of Hanoverton, OH, Norma Jean Walker Davis of Ashland, OH, sister-in-law, Marilyn Coe (David) of Lisbon, Oh, sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry (Virginia) Walker of Lisbon, OH, brother-in-law, Thurman G. Cornell of East Liverpool, OH, many nieces and nephews. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harry Blair Walker, a sister, Grace Walker Cornell and a granddaughter, Kaydee J. Walker.

    Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, LA 70818 on Monday, March 17, 2014 and again on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 10:00 AM until religious services at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Pastor Joe Ratcliff with interment at Azalea Rest Memorial Cemetery in Zachary, LA. Pallbearers are Bob Walker, Kenny Walker, Danny Walker, Rex Bowden, Jr., Kevin Montz and Paul Robinson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Cornell and Rusty Burrows.
