CHS Girl’s Bowling Sets New School Records – Again!

By  |

For the second time this season, Central Girls Bowling (7-1) made short work of a shorthanded U High (0-7) on Wednesday (2-26-14).  The Wildcats would come out on fire against University High in Game 1 and set a new CHS Girls Game Record with a 937 (to U High’s 493).  The Wildcats would sweep all the points in the first game, winning 8-0.  Sarah LeDuff (Sophomore/Co-Captain) led Game 1 with a great 225.  Central would “fall off” a tad in Game 2 but still won easily 7-1 and 856-574. Haley Young (Junior/Co-Captain) led Game 2 with a 210.  Game 3 got several contributions starting with Young’s 222, Kaylee Robinson (Sophomore) with a 192, LeDuff’s 175 and Brittnee Robinson’s (Freshman) 144.  All of that would lead to another new CHS Girls Game Record with a 954!  The Wildcats would win Game 3 in solid fashion 8-0 and 954-524.  When all the pins settled, the Central Girls would set another school record for the CHS Girls Series (for a third straight match).  The 2747 series is over 100 pins more than record setting performance against St Joseph a week earlier.  In fact, the 2747 series by Central’s Girls is higher than 12 of the 18 Baton Rouge area Boys teams season high series this season!
Overall, Central would cruise to a 26-1 and 2747-1591 victory over U High.  Young led the Wildcats with another outstanding series of 611 (her second straight 600+ series), followed by LeDuff’s 568, Kaylee Robinson’s 477 and Brittnee Robinson’s 422.  Early in the season, this young team set out to prove that they can compete with anyone in the Baton Rouge area, but with scores over 2700 they’re showing they can compete statewide.  The Wildcats go for their first District Title on Wednesday (3-12-14) at All Star Lanes (3:15) against Redemptorist (7-2).  With a win the title comes home to Central, but with a loss there becomes a log jam on top of the Baton Rouge District and Central (at worst) is co-champs.  Central defeated Redemptorist in a close 17-10 match a month ago.  Come cheer your Wildcats on to a District Title next Wednesday!
