In Memoriam: Clarence E. Laurendine, Jr.

    Clarence E. Laurendine, Jr. passed away at 3:50 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Baton Rouge General Butterfly Wing at the age of 81. He was a native of Laurel, MS and a resident of Greenwell Springs and was retired from Georgia Pacific. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
    Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Central on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will be held again on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 10:00 AM until religious services at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Milford Walters and Rev. Jim Efferson. Burial will be at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Lou Burnette Laurendine; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Wanda and Kenneth Francis and Nancy Whatley; 1 sister, Ruth Ann Pope; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Ernest Lamar Laurendine and Robert H. and Pattye Laurendine; 6 grandchildren and spouses, Gregory Francis, Kendra and Bert Stone, Melissa and Clell Rickards, Jr., Bradley and Julie Francis, Kennan and Victoria Whatley, Jessica and Cory Allison; 6 great-grandchildren, Clell, III and Rylie Rickards, Zachary and Macy Whatley, Alexis and Benjamin Allison; numerous nieces and nephews.
    Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E., Sr. and Lurlene Windham Laurendine; infant brother, Vernon Edgar Laurendine; beloved son-in-law, Kenneth Whatley.
