CENTRAL BOYS' BOWLING BLOWS OUT WOODLAWN & BATON ROUGE HIGH

By Coach Godley

Central Boys' Bowling (5-1) had a great week by first defeating Woodlawn (3-4) and then beating Baton Rouge High (1-4).  In their first match on February 12 against Woodlawn, Central wouldn’t lose a point until the third game and would cruise to a 25-2 and 3173-2317 victory.  In fact, Central’s newest bowlers would steal the show and carry the Wildcats throughout the match.  Junior and Captain Jacob Garretson would lead the way with a great 257, but he was followed closely by Freshman Parker Aucoin’s 233 in Game 1.  Game 2 saw another Freshman lead the way with a 247 from Dylan Ringo.  Freshman Bryce Delaune helped wrap up the victory in Game 3 with a team high 189.  Overall, Garretson rolled a team high 599 series, followed by Aucoin’s 584 and Ringo’s 565.  Woodlawn was led by Claudia Savoie’s 223 and 600 and Travis Williams’ 223 and 597.

In another match that was never in doubt, Central cruised to victory against Baton Rouge High on Tuesday, February 18 by rolling the third highest series in school history with a 3306.  The Wildcats would ride the good bowling to a 24-3 win.  In fact, the Wildcats would win Total Pins by over 1,000 pins (3306-2279).  Aucoin would lead all Wildcats on his way to setting a new Central Boys’ Series Record with a 710!  Aucoin had games of 249, 224 and 237.  Garretson followed with a 607 series (182, 218 and 207).  Ringo chipped in a 566 (213 game), and Sophomore Johnathan Ryder rolled his first 500 series of the season with a 502 (203 game).  The Co-Ed Baton Rouge High was led by their anchor Keondra Eaton (199/537).

Central enters district play this Wednesday, February 26 against rival Denham Springs (3-2) riding a 5-game winning streak.  The Wildcats have defeated the Yellow Jackets in their last 3 matches, and with control of the BR 5A North District on the line, they’ll look to improve that streak to four at All Star Lanes (3:15PM).
