Pam LeBlanc Joins Heart Walk in Memory of Daughter

Pic2    The following is from Central resident, Pam LeBlanc's donation page, which can be found at http://capitalareaheartwalk.kintera.org/pamleblanc614

I’m joining the American Heart Association's Heart Walk and I'm asking you to please support me in helping to raise money and bring awareness to the problem of heart disease affecting people of all ages.

My daughter, Lauren, was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. She had open heart surgery when she was 8 months old. Lauren thrived after her surgery…living life to the fullest and loving everything from her best friend, Elizabeth, to her cat, Max, to playing in the sand and feeding the seagulls at her favorite place on earth, Destin, Florida. That's where she was on Easter break in 2001 when she collapsed while on vacation with Elizabeth and her family. Lauren was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola but the damage was too great and she passed away after 8 days on life support. The surgery that Lauren had when she was 8 months old allowed her to be with us for 10 years filled with wonderful memories that I'll cherish forever.

I'm participating in the Capital Area Heart Walk in memory of my daughter, Lauren, and also to help in the fight against heart disease. The money that is raised each year will be used to fund the valuable research, education and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association.

Please join me in the fight by donating to the American Heart Association's Capital Area Heart Walk.

Thank you!
