Ray May Appointed to State Parks & Rec Commission

    Central resident Ray May has been appointed by Governor Bobby Jindal to serve as the Governor's representative on the Louisiana State Parks and Recreation Commission which guides the ongoing use, guidelines, improvements, and development of Louisiana State Parks.
    During his 33-year career with parks and recreation, he served as President of Louisiana Parks and Recreation Commission, Southwest Regional member of National Parks and Recreation, helped develop programs for Louisiana Recreation Professionals Accreditations, guided BREC to National recognition for parks and programs and other professional awards.  He was a familiar public recreation representative to the citizens of East Baton Rouge before his retirement from BREC as Assistant Superintendent/Director of Recreation.
