Opening the season in a meet that featured two defending state champions, the Central swim team had a very strong showing.  The Wildcats had seven times fast enough to qualify for the state meet in November, and the boys team scored 85 points in the kickoff meet with a shortened format.

Sean Murphy was the first to post a state time finishing the 200 freestyle in 2:14.68.  Matthew Arnold was next as he posted a fourth place finish in the 200 IM in 2:14.59.  Matthew also finished second in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.25.  Also, posting a state time was Kade McAdams in the 100 freestyle when he finished in 57.86.  Daniel Parker posted two state qualifying times.  Daniel swam the 50 free in 24.82 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.95 which was good enough for 4th place.  The final state time was posted by Emerald Roney who completed the 100 backstroke in 1:18.33.

Two other strong performances were turned in by first year swimmers.  Freshman Acacia Porch swam her first 100 freestyle fast enough to earn two points for the Wildcats.  Cameron Polk, a junior, earned a point for the Wildcats in the 50 freestyle.  He swam the 50 freestyle in 26.83 which is less than half a second off the state qualifying time.
