On Tuesday of last week, the Wildcats traveled to Morgan City to take on Central Catholic. Central exploded for three runs in the top of the first and never looked back in a 6-4 victory. Cameron Cason came up big with three hits in the game while Brett Courville and Chris Chambliss each had 2 RBI’s. Preston Fondren got credit for the win while Hunter Edgens got the save. On Thursday, a valiant comeback would not be enough to overcome an early deficit as the Wildcats lose a 9-8 decision to Franklinton. Central found themselves down 7-0 after a rough second inning but really dug in and fought back afterwards. Down 5 runs going into the bottom of the seventh, Central scored four in a great rally before the last out was recorded. Antonio Ragusa led the Wildcats with 2 hits while Travis Stevens, Thomas Eddlemon, and Mason Gautreaux each tallied 2 RBI’s.
The Wildcats are back in action tonight at Zachary at 6. They play Saturday at Walker at 1:30, and at home against Denham Springs on Tuesday. Come out and support your Central Wildcats baseball team.
