Why Do We Need These School Taxes?

By  |

On Saturday, May 2, the community of Central will vote on three school propositions that could determine the future of our community school system’s progress.

Why do we need these propositions?

• Central Community Schools are over-crowded and the current facilities are very old and in need of much repair, including repairs that are necessary for the students’ safety.

• By providing funds for the construction of a new Central Middle School and a new elementary school, voters will enable the school system to expand its facilities to address the increasing enrollment demands on the system and lessen maintenance and repair costs associated with the older facilities.

• By making life safety improvements to the existing facilities, students and school employees will be safer and the learning environments will be better at every school.

• Upgrading the school facilities will allow for the expansion of classroom technology, giving our teachers and students access to the latest educational programs and equipment.
